Karina Llergo was born and raised in Mexico City, where her roots intertwine with Mexican, Armenian, and Spanish heritage. Karina's academic pursuits led her to attain a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and further advanced her skills through postgraduate diplomas in Multimedia, Animation, Abstract Art, and Portraiture.

While keeping art at the forefront of her mind and heart, Karina enjoyed a successful corporate career, serving as the art director for Mexico City's premier newspaper "Reforma," where she won several international awards, as well as contributing to campaigns for global brands such as Coca-Cola and Revlon at the prestigious advertising agency McCann Erickson.

In 2007, Karina made a pivotal decision to transition to a full-time career in art, relocating to Chicago. Since then, her artwork has gained widespread acclaim, earning her a devoted following throughout North America. Her achievements include numerous Best of Show and Outstanding Achievement awards, selection as a Featured Artist at esteemed art shows and exhibitions throughout the United States, and multiple interviews on television news programs.

Karina’s paintings are a reflection of her intense study and passionate interest in human figures. Her unique style transforms figures into ethereal fluid entities. As a lifelong dancer, competitive swimmer, and yoga practitioner, she found herself drawn to depicting on canvas the palpable energy of the human body in motion and inner soul, interweaving elements of air, water, and dance. Driven by these fascinations and armed with her talent for figurative painting, Karina found a way to translate her observations and creative imagination into thought-provoking art of breathtaking beauty and inspirational emotions.
